Whilst playing in the park one day, John, Billy and Susie stumble upon the grounds of a derelict house.
Curiousity gets the better of them and so they decide to have a closer look. Once inside, little John paints a dark and haunted tale of the old house, watching his friends squirm with fear with each and every creak of the house.
This is a lot of fun for John, and so as they explore the house, he decides to go one step further by

playing the ghost himself.
His two friends, Billy and Susie, get so scared that they make a quick exit for the front door.
Now John is left on his own, in the dark, creaky old house. The longer John is alone, the more haunted the house appears. He hears footsteps but knows his friends have already scarpered.
The footsteps get louder, closer, but all is still dark. A hand suddenly grabs him by the ear.

"ello son", says the policeman, "you know you shouldn't be in here! Its not safe."
He is escorted outside where he finds his friends with a policewoman, looking much happier than he is.
But the house was never empty in the beginning. The creaks were more than just the wind blowing through the rafters. From the attic a stray cat looks out with a grin, as the children quickly head home.
